Lennard began his career in the development department of Cologne based company Zeitsprung Pictures in Germany. He then moved into physical production, initially working as unit manager and assistant director on TV productions and features. Simultaneously he continued to work as a freelance script and story consultant.
Lennard holds a BSc in film & TV production from the University of York and recently graduated with an MA in producing from the National Film & Television School.
Together with his producing partner Sabina Smitham, Lennard won the UK Jewish Film and Pears funding award as a commission for their short film The Master of York written and directed by Kieron Quirke, which has gone on to play at festivals such as Rhodes Island, Palm Springs and many more.
Lennard’s graduation project Inanimate, a stop motion short directed by Lucia Bulgheroni, had its world premier at Cannes Cinefoundation in 2018, where is won 3rd prize, subsequently screening and winning prizes at Annecy, Melbourne, BAFTA LA, Encounters and over 100 other festivals.
Since graduating Lennard works as a freelance production manager and line producer for commercials, television and independent feature films, as well as developing his own slate of projects.
